Krishna Janmashtami 2020 festival is celebrated as the incarnation day of Shri Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is celebrated according to the Hindu luni-solar calendar, the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan, which overlaps with August and September of the Gregorian calendar. It is related to the Vaishnava tradition of Hinduism. The scenes of the life of Lord Shri Krishna under this festival are considered devotional singing during midnight by mediums like drama, fasting, Bhagavata Purana Katha, Ras Leela / Krishna Leela when Krishna is born, fasting, awakening and the next day is a festival.
Shri Krishna is considered one of the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He was born 5,200 years ago in Mathura. The sole purpose of Shri Krishna’s birth was to free the earth from the evil of demons. He played an important role in the Mahabharata and preached the principle of devotion and good deeds which is deeply described in the Bhagavad Gita.
Sri Krishna was born in prison under the patronage of Kamsa. Vasudeva, his father, immediately thought of his friend Nanda and decided to hand over his child to him to save Krishna from the clutches of Kamsa. Krishna grew up in Gokul and eventually killed his uncle King Kansa.
Krishna Janmashtami 2020 is also known by the prominent names Krishnashtami, Gokulashtami, Kanhaiya Ashtami, Kanhaiya Aath, Percent Earth, Ashtami Rohini, Shri Krishna Jayanti and Shreeji Jayanti.
